Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks a Patient Financial Access Specialist - OP to support complex scheduling across outpatient services and to verify patient demographics and insurance information. This role interfaces with patients, physicians, and nurses to ensure accurate schedule coordination and timely reimbursement.

The position requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to train and support staff in Epic-based workflows while maintaining exceptional patient service

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in customer service in hospital/physician office environments.
• Experience with registration, scheduling, and medical insurance/eligibility requirements preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; ability to educate and advocate for patients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate patient demographics and scheduling across multiple outpatient areas.
• Manage insurance entry, eligibility verification, and billing documentation per departmental policies.
• Schedule complex and time-sensitive appointments using the Epic system.
• Provide QA support and cross-department training to maintain high standards.
• Deliver service excellence and ensure a positive patient experience per organizational standards.
• Maintain scheduling templates with clinical staff for multiple locations.
• Review and update training materials and support staff as needed.
