Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in hospital, medical office or clinic setting preferred.
• Experience in medical billing or refunds is a plus.
• Knowledge of federal and state payer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Billing: reviews, edits and submits claims, performs denial follow up.
• Collections: follows up with payers to resolve accounts.
• Credits: handles refunds to patients and insurers.
• Customer service: answers inquiries from patients, guarantors and families.
• Phone interactions: discusses payment plans and financial assistance.
• Cashier’s duties: handles daily cash, deposits and reconciliations.
