Job summary

Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital in Saint George, Utah seeks a Patient Service Representative to be the first connection with patients, greeting, check‑in/out, and verification of information in the EMR to support scheduling and registration.

This position emphasizes courteous communication, HIPAA privacy, and assistance with insurance forms, billing inquiries, and payments, with a 30‑hour weekly schedule and an hourly rate of $18.31–$23.80.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person or by phone.
• Register patients and verify demographic data in the registration system.
• Schedule appointments and referrals.
• Collect and process payments; educate patients on financial assistance.
• Document interactions in the EMR.
• Follow procedures for insurance coordination and prior authorizations as needed.
