Job summary

Summit Health in the United States is hiring a patient services representative to greet visitors, manage registrations, handle payments, and coordinate scheduling and insurance verifications. You will work closely with clinical staff to maintain smooth patient flow and exceptional service.

The role requires strong English communication, high school level education (associate degree preferred), and familiarity with EHR/Practice Management Systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of medical office terminology and basic computer use preferred.
• Experience with EHR and Practice Management Systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, patients and families and direct them professionally.
• Maintain efficient patient flow during registration and provide great customer service.
• Answer phones promptly and route calls appropriately with proper etiquette.
• Inform patients of delays and assist with comfort.
• Process self pay charges, collect payments and reconcile daily receipts.
• Open/close batches and reconcile collections, prepare deposits.
• Scan insurance cards, verify insurance and update patient accounts.
• Schedule and confirm appointments per guidelines and use waitlists as applicable.
• Arrange orders for diagnostic tests following workflows; coordinate pre-authorizations when needed.
• Communicate issues to Office Supervisor/Manager promptly.
