Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to support front-desk operations in a busy healthcare setting. You will greet patients, manage registration flows, and coordinate scheduling and payments with accuracy and courtesy.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Experience as a Patient Service Representative preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written; strong customer service.
• Familiarity with medical office terminology and Windows-based software; basic computer skills.
• Experience with EHR and Practice Management Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and direct them professionally.
• Maintain patient flow during registration with excellent service.
• Answer and route phone calls politely and accurately.
• Collect payments and reconcile daily transactions.
• Scan insurance cards and verify eligibility.
• Schedule appointments and manage waitlist per guidelines.
• Assist with pre-authorization and referrals as needed.
• Communicate issues to supervisor promptly.
