Job summary

Penn Medicine in Philadelphia is seeking a Patient Services Associate (PSA) to support patient and front-end operations in a busy practice or call center setting.

You will manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, collect copays, update insurance and demographic data in EMR, and help ensure high-quality patient experiences.

H.S. Diploma required with 2+ years medical office or 4 years in customer service; advanced degrees may be considered in lieu of experience.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years medical office experience, or 4 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Advanced degree may be considered in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining patient/customer focus and support high-quality care.
• Answer phones promptly, manage patient requests, and route appropriately using EMR.
• Schedule patient appointments following established protocols and confirm changes.
• Collect copays, obtain signatures/forms, and update appointment status in EMR.
• Communicate with patients regarding flow and wait times; coordinate referrals and authorizations when required.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
