Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a friendly Patient Service Representative to greet visitors, manage registration, and ensure smooth patient flow. You will answer calls, verify insurance, process payments, and coordinate with clinical staff to support timely pre-authorizations and referrals.

We value excellent customer service, English communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environment. This is an on-site role supporting satellite offices as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must have the ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of medical office and terminology preferred.
• Basic proficiency in computer use required.
• Experience with EHR, Practice Management System and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, patients, and families professionally and direct them accordingly.
• Maintain efficient patient flow through registration and provide excellent service.
• Answer phones promptly and route calls appropriately with proper etiquette.
• Inform patients of delays in physician schedules and assist with comfort.
• Post self-pay charges, collect payments, and provide receipts; reconcile daily payments.
• Scan insurance cards, verify insurance, and update patient accounts; update demographics and HIPAA forms.
