Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to greet visitors, guide them through registration, and help manage patient flow in our New Jersey offices.

You will answer phones, verify insurance, schedule appointments, process payments, and update patient records in the EHR and Practice Management System, while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must have the ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.
• Basic proficiency in computer use; experience with Windows-based environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and direct them appropriately.
• Maintain an efficient patient flow through the registration process.
• Promptly answer the telephone, take accurate messages and deliver to the appropriate person.
• Inform patients of delays and assist with patient comfort while delays occur.
• Post self pay charges, collect payments and provide receipts; reconcile daily payments.
• Open and close batches; reconcile collections and deposits; document corrections.
• Scan insurance cards and verify information; update patient accounts.
• Schedule appointments accurately and manage waitlists; review eligibility and phone reports.
