Job summary

MedStar Ambulatory Services is seeking a patient-facing associate to greet patients, manage flow, and handle check-in/check-out duties. You will verify insurance, collect co-pays, and schedule tests and follow-ups in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong communication, medical terminology knowledge, and a courteous, professional demeanor to support excellent patient experiences. CPR is required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of customer service experience, healthcare preferred.
• CPR certification within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals while upholding policies and quality standards.
• Intake patients, verify insurance, explain patient responsibilities and collect co-pays.
• Schedule and refer appointments; prepare test requisitions as needed.
• Answer calls, provide triage, and route messages using available systems.
• Update and file forms and records; ensure clean, accurate records.
• Notify patients of missed appointments and track no-shows.
• Process patient charges and update demographic and insurance data.
