Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of related education may substitute for one year of required work experience.
• Less than 1 year to 1 year experience in customer service required; healthcare setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of IDX/GE Centricity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, quality and safety standards.
• Manages patient intake, verifies insurance, explains payments, and collects co-pays.
• Schedules appointments, follows up and referrals, and processes tests requisitions.
• Answers phones, provides triage, and routes messages to appropriate staff.
• Updates and scans patient records to ensure data flows into the medical record.
• Notifies patients about missed appointments and tracks no-shows.
• Checks out patients by inputting charges and updating demographics and insurance.
• Supports new technology and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience.
• Maintains neat work areas and participates in meetings as needed.
• Works with team and providers to maintain high reliability and Just Culture.
