Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a friendly patient services associate to greet patients, register demographics, collect co-pays, and coordinate appointments across departments. You will help ensure smooth patient flow and accurate information entry.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of healthcare customer service experience preferred, and familiarity with scheduling systems. CPR certification and daily front-desk duties may apply where required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; one year of education may substitute for one year of work experience.
• Prefer 1 year of healthcare customer service experience and familiarity with scheduling systems.
• Experience with IDX/GE Centricity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and serves as the initial contact person.
• Registers patients and collects co-pays and TOS payments.
• Schedules appointments and coordinates referrals and tests.
• Deals with insurance verification and patient demographics updates.
• Answers phones, provides triage and relays messages to appropriate staff.
• Prepares forms and records, scans and indexes documents for the patient chart.
• Monitors appointments, follows up on missed visits, and ensures accurate data entry.
• Supports continuous improvement and high reliability in daily operations.
• Maintains neat work area representing MedStar Health positively.
