Job summary

Pediatrix is seeking a Patient Services Associate to greet patients, check-in, collect payments, verify demographics, and coordinate scheduling in a fast-paced medical office in Orem, UT.

The role supports the care team, handles insurance verification and accurate billing information, and maintains HIPAA compliance while delivering a welcoming patient experience. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-3 years recent experience in a related position in medical office setting preferred.
• Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Office) preferred; experience with medical billing systems is a plus.
• Experience in coding, office billing, insurance and government payer regulations, and other third-party billing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Patient Reception & Check-In/Check-Out: Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner; register and check in patients; verify demographic and insurance information; collect copayments and outstanding balances; schedule follow-up appointments and provide visit summaries or referrals as needed.
• Scheduling & Communication: Schedule new and follow-up appointments; confirm, reschedule, and communicate changes or delays promptly; manage high-volume incoming calls; record accurate messages and route inquiries; coordinate communication between patients, providers, and staff.
• Insurance & Billing Support: Review and update patient demographics and insurance information; verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments; obtain and document pre-authorizations and referrals; communicate coverage issues to patients; assist with insurance inquiries and time of service payments.
• Administrative Support: Prepare daily clinic schedules and chart prep; support faxing, scanning and indexing documents into the patient’s medical record.
• Customer Service & Compliance: Provide compassionate assistance; ensure HIPAA compliance; contribute to a clean, safe, welcoming environment.
