Qualifications

• 1–2 years of patient registration or front-office experience in a medical setting preferred
• Experience with insurance rules and medical terminology advantageous
• Experience collecting payments and explaining financial responsibilities to patients preferred
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and office safety protocols

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients; notify staff of arrivals
• Answer calls and provide information or direction
• Verify insurance benefits and collect co-pays and balances
• Schedule appointments and manage referrals/authorizations
• Maintain accurate patient demographics and privacy per HIPAA
• Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily transactions
• Maintain a clean, professional front-office environment
