Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a Patient Service Representative for our Exton, PA office. You will greet patients, manage check-in/check-out, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and collect payments in a busy front office.

The role is full-time, on-site, Monday–Friday, with a focus on accurate data entry, patient confidentiality, and outstanding customer service in a collaborative orthopedic setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of patient registration or front office experience in a medical setting.
• Experience with insurance rules, medical terminology, and EMR systems (Allscripts Pro Suite a plus).
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and office safety protocols.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and the public.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and check-in/check-out; notify clinicians of arrivals.
• Answer calls, relay messages, and assist patients with forms.
• Collect demographic and insurance information and required authorizations.
• Collect co-pays and explain financial responsibilities to patients.
• Complete insurance verifications and notify about coverage issues.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate authorizations.
• Scan patient information and maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Prepare charts for the following day and balance cash drawer.
• Uphold HIPAA compliance and maintain organized front office.
• Follow site SOPs and perform additional duties as assigned.
