Job summary

MedStar Health – Washington Hospital Center is seeking a friendly front desk/patient access representative to greet patients and manage initial contact in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You will coordinate patient flow, register patients, collect co-pays, verify insurance, and schedule follow-up appointments while maintaining accurate records and delivering a positive patient experience in person and over the phone.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of relevant education may substitute for one year of required work experience.
• 6 months - 1 year experience providing high quality customer service required, preferably in a health care setting.
• Working knowledge of IDX/GE Centricity business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and coordinate efficient patient flow.
• Register patients, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and process Time-of-Service payments.
• Schedule appointments and prepare test requisitions.
• Answer phones, provide triage, and relay messages.
• Maintain patient records and ensure data flows into the EMR.
• Ensure clean, professional front desk appearance and adhere to policies.
