Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Patient Service Representative to handle front-desk patient flow, scheduling and payments, and to provide a positive, helpful patient experience.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, experience with healthcare settings and basic math for co-pays. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling systems is preferred. Onsite, full-time position with elevation of patient service standards.

Competenze

• Experience in a general office setting preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with computerized scheduling systems preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with patients and staff.
• Strong organizational skills and basic math for insurance co-pays.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office applications.

Mansioni

• Greet and assist patients and families with prompt, caring responses.
• Perform point-of-service activities including visit prep and co-pay collection.
• Schedule patient visits or diagnostic testing using hospital procedures.
• Manage third-party payors and collect co-pays.
• Handle routine clerical tasks such as faxing, copying, filing and messages.
• Maintain front desk inventory and communicate needs to staff.
• Support smooth office operations by adjusting priorities and deadlines.
• Ensure the department and waiting area are clean and orderly.
• Participate in cross-coverage of clerical duties as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA compliance standards.
