Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is hiring a Patient Dining Associate (Dietary Aide) for a full-time position at VCU Health in Richmond, VA. You will assist patients with menu selections, assemble and deliver meals, and support patient safety and satisfaction goals on assigned units. The role requires 2 years of food service and cash handling experience; patient dining experience is preferred.

Shifts are 12 hours (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies and preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to menu selections, retrieving trays on time.
• Complies with regulatory standards and HIPAA policies.
• Adhere to HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning stations.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on special diets.
• Communicate problems to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily, weekly or monthly reports as required.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
