Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring Patient Dining Associates (Dietary Aide) at UVA Haymarket in Haymarket, VA. The roles include both full-time and part-time schedules, with varied hours and rotating weekends.

Prior restaurant experience is required and pay ranges from $17.00 to $18.50 per hour. As part of the patient dining team, you will help patients with menu selections, assemble meals, and ensure accuracy and timeliness while upholding safety and nutrition standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for allergies, dietary restrictions, and cultural preferences.
• Assemble meals according to patient menus in a timely and accurate manner; retrieve trays as scheduled.
• Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO standards and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and maintaining clean work stations.
• Follow facility infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets.
• Communicate issues to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as required.
• Adhere to health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
