Job summary

SportsMed Physical Therapy in Northern New Jersey is seeking a Patient Coordinator to manage front desk tasks, schedule appointments, verify benefits, and maintain accurate patient data in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You will welcome patients, support the team, ensure timely communication with providers, protect confidentiality, and contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment with strong customer service and organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in a physical therapy environment, medical office, or hospitality with a strong customer-service focus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume front desk setting.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors in person or by phone and handle inquiries or referrals.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments to optimize provider time and treatment room usage.
• Complete insurance verifications and obtain authorization when needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality of information.
• Notify providers of patient arrivals and delays to keep appointments on track.
• Maintain patient accounts and collect charges; manage third-party claims where applicable.
• Support team with data entry, documentation, and general front-desk tasks.
