Responsibilities

• Greet patients and update insurance/demographics in the PM system.
• Verify insurance at or before arrival; ensure physician accepts presented coverage.
• Notify staff of patient arrival and ensure medical records are available for the physician.
• Process HIPAA-related paperwork and other forms as needed.
• Obtain referrals or authorizations when required.
• Monitor waiting room status and communicate wait times to patients.
