Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• 1 year physician practice experience.
• Must have on-site training (1 week) provided by practice.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and update insurance/demographics in the practice management system.
• Verify insurance before or at arrival; ensure payer acceptance for the physician.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure patient records are available for the physician.
• Handle HIPAA-related paperwork and forms as required.
• Collect co-pays and provide receipts per cash-control procedures.
• May schedule follow-up appointments and provide patient with records-request guidelines.
• May perform simple charge entry tasks or input payments and prepare deposits.
