Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator I to manage patient appointments, collect demographics and insurance details, and verify coverage before visits.

You will schedule tests and follow-ups, initiate reminder calls, and coordinate with Administrative staff to resolve patient concerns while ensuring accurate data entry into the practice management system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of secretarial/clerical experience, preferably in a medical practice environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient FPA appointments and updates practice management system.
• Collects patient demographics and insurance information and enters into practice management system.
• Verifies patient insurance coverage prior to appointment and informs patient of any required referrals or authorizations.
• May schedule patient appointments for tests or consults.
• May initiate reminder calls for next day’s appointments.
• May liaise with Administrative Assistant staff to address patient concerns or other issues.
• Performs other related duties.
