Job summary

The Jordan-Young Institute in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a full-time Patient Registration Representative to join our private multi-specialty practice. The role focuses on greeting patients, collecting demographics, verifying insurance, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant records with Epic, Clearwave, and Allscripts.

You'll handle phone duties, manage front-desk operations, and support daily administrative tasks while contributing to a team dedicated to exceptional patient care and service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a medical front desk registration role preferred.
• Experience with telephone and in-person customer service.
• Comfort with EMR and PM systems (Epic, Clearwave, All Scripts) and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a concierge; greeting patients and visitors to assist with the registration process at the front desk or kiosk including collecting payments.
• Collect and verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and medical history using EMR and PM systems such as Epic, Clearwave, and All Scripts
• Review and update patient documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations within applicable systems.
• Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and confirm insurance authorization is on file for various payors.
• Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
• Maintain organized medical records, file documents accurately, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive health information.
• Support administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, generating no-show and recall letters, produce end of day reports and additional duties that align with the department goals.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives and risk-mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety-related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
