The role requires HIPAA compliance, good data entry, and collaboration with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow and effective referrals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates preferred.
• BLS certification required and maintained.
• 1-3 years medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical coding and billing.
• Familiar with OSHA, HIPAA and related regulations.
• Proficient with MS Office and basic PC skills.
• Ability to supervise and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner and inform of delays.
• Obtain registration data, insurance information, and photo ID at each encounter.
• Enter patient data into the computer system accurately.
• Verify insurance and collect co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Balance daily charges and safeguard received money.
• Manage patient charts and referrals; assist other staff as needed.
• Assist in scheduling referrals and ensure lobby remains stocked and clean.
