Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• 1–3 years medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical coding and billing.
• Familiarity with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
• Proficient with PC applications (Internet, Email, Microsoft Office).
• Ability to supervise and train provider staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner; manage front desk to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Verify insurance, collect co-pays/deductibles, and maintain accurate patient data.
• Enter patient data into the computer system and protect confidentiality.
• Support scheduling and follow-up on provider referrals; coordinate with staff.
• Adhere to HIPAA and safety guidelines; safeguard money received.
• Balance daily charges and assist with billing processes as needed.
