Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Tech (CNA) to support clinical teams in patient care and safety. The role involves specimen handling, 12-lead EKGs, and patient assistance with daily activities as outlined in the plan of care.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited CNA program (Illinois CNA Registry listed) or nursing student with clinical rotation, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and listed on the Illinois CNA Registry OR nursing student who has completed one clinical rotation.
• BLS through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Collects, labels and transports specimens as assigned.
• Obtains 12 lead EKGs.
• Discontinues Saline Locks and Indwelling Urinary Catheters.
• Performs Bladder Scan.
• Performs Point of Care Testing as appropriate.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene and nutritional needs as identified on patient's plan of care.
