Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and listed on the state CNA registry OR nursing student with one clinical rotation completed.
• BLS through American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical/patient care functions under RN or physician supervision.
• Collects, labels and transports specimens as assigned.
• Obtains 12-lead EKGs and assists with telemetry monitoring.
• Discontinues saline locks, catheters, and telemetry packs as directed.
• Performs bladder scans and point-of-care testing as appropriate.
• Assists patients with hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and positioning.
• Responds to patient call lights promptly and maintains a safe care environment.
• Participates in training and performance improvement activities.
