Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support the care team with specimen handling, EKGs, catheter management, telemetry, and basic nursing tasks. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and collaboration with RNs to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities include assist with daily living activities, rounding with the clinical RN, documenting care data, and maintaining a clean, safe care environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and Illinois CNA Registry OR nursing student with one clinical rotation completed; provide verification.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Collects, labels and transports specimens as assigned.
• Obtains 12 lead EKGs.
• Discontinues Saline Locks and indwelling urinary catheters.
• Discontinues Telemetry Monitoring packs.
• Performs bladder scan and point of care testing as appropriate.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene and nutritional needs per plan of care.
