Job summary

West Wichita Family Physicians, PA is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to streamline pre-service processes for in-house imaging and coordinate referrals for specialty care. You will serve as the first point of contact for scheduling, insurance verification, and patient communication.

The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork in a busy clinic. A high school diploma and clinic experience are required, with preferred familiarity with EMR systems and insurance procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of insurance processes and medical terminology preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive orders from physicians to schedule in-house procedures and process referrals.
• Verify that procedures align with diagnoses and prior testing when needed.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain information for pre-certification.
• Speak with patients or representatives by phone to schedule procedures.
• Explain procedures and preparation, provide directions and answer questions.
• Maintain confidentiality and contribute to a healthy team environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
