Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati is hiring a patient access and scheduling specialist to answer calls, schedule appointments, and coordinate information between physicians, patients, and clinical areas.

You will verify demographic and financial data, navigate EPIC EMR, and help ensure accuracy, timely workflows, and HIPAA/compliance with insurance guidelines. Prior scheduling in a medical office is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of Customer Service experience in a medical office preferred.
• Experience with scheduling in a medical office is preferred.
• Must be able to multi-task and protect patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Knowledge of health insurance coverage and billing basics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming telephone calls, schedule appointments, and route inquiries to the appropriate staff.
• Manage daily patient and physician scheduling to optimize satisfaction and room utilization.
• Verify and update patient demographics and financial information per guidelines.
• Operate EPIC EMR and process referrals/pre-certifications as needed.
• Prepare patient materials and office correspondence; maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• All other duties as assigned.
