Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator I to act as a liaison for patients and families, care providers, and department teams. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple scheduling requests and prioritize.
• Experience with MS Word, email, and data entry in a Windows-based environment.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems and meet patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all patient appointments and coordinate with departments.
• Work with patients, families, visitors, providers, and staff to identify needs and resolve questions.
• Update patient and caregiver contact information in the EHR.
• Communicate scheduling needs with providers and staff.
• Prioritize scheduling requests and manage emergencies.
• Support department operations and cross-cover when needed.
• Assist with training of new staff.
• Triage calls from referring providers and patients.
• Enter patient demographics and insurance data.
• Assist with financial clearance process.
• Coordinate access portals (IMTX).
• Distribute work to program staff as appropriate.
