Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator I to act as a professional liaison for patients and families, care providers, and Fred Hutch departments. You will optimize complex scheduling across multiple systems and ensure continuity of care with a trusted patient relationship.

The role is full-time and hybrid, with a Monday–Friday schedule. You will help with training, header templates, and triage of scheduling requests in a fast-paced health care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize concurrent responsibilities.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, email, and data entry in Windows.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems and meet patient needs.
• Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented health care environment.
• Active listening and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments related to treatment within Fred Hutch and outside consults, coordinating with departments for patient flow.
• Interact with patients, families, visitors, providers, and staff to identify needs and provide information.
• Update patient and caregiver contact information in EHR as needed.
• Coordinate with providers, technologists, and nurses regarding scheduling needs and treatment schedules.
• Prioritize scheduling requests and triage when necessary.
• Assist with training of new staff and cross-coverage duties.
• Update/provider templates for just-in-time needs.
