Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator I to act as a professional liaison for patients and families, care providers, and Fred Hutch departments. You will use critical thinking to manage scheduling requests across multiple systems and ensure smooth transitions between care settings, building trusted patient relationships.

This role may work partially at our Evergreen site in Kirkland and remotely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize concurrent responsibilities.
• Clear verbal and written communication in a healthcare setting.
• Proficient with MS Word, email, and data entry.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify and eliminate errors.
• Active listening and relationship-building with boundaries.

Responsabilités

• Schedule patient treatment appointments and referrals; coordinate with departments for efficient flow.
• Work with patients, families, providers, and staff to identify needs and answer questions.
• Update patient and caregiver contact information in the EHR.
• Communicate scheduling needs to providers, technologists, and nurses; notify parties as needed.
• Prioritize scheduling requests and triage calls from referring physicians and patients.
• Recognize emergencies and initiate appropriate code procedures.
• Support department functions and cover additional duties as needed.
• Assist with training of new staff and provider template updates.
• Coordinate access to the Commercial Cell Therapy Portal (IMTX).
• Distribute workload to the Program Assistant and/or Coordinator Assistant.
