Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable of AdaptHealth policies and procedures applicable to this position.
• Represent AdaptHealth professionally in face-to-face contact with patients, referral sources, and hospital personnel.
• Maintain and increase revenue from hospital/facility orders.
• Develop knowledge of home equipment, insurance guidelines, eligibility, and reimbursement.
• Fulfill equipment orders; ensure equipment is clean, working, and paperwork is complete.
• Deliver/pick up supplies and equipment courteously and on time, meeting delivery goals.
• Understand cost-effective delivery methods for HME orders.
• Train and educate patients and caregivers on equipment use and answer questions.
• Inform new patients about rights and responsibilities and how to contact the billing department.
• Initiate insurance verification and explain patient financial responsibility.
• Discuss insurance coverage and arrange payment of patient responsibility.
• Process credit/debit payments using standard electronic tools.
• Obtain signatures for paperwork including delivery ticket and assignment of benefits.
• Document date/time of delivery and note any changes to the order; update driving directions if needed.
• Return dirty equipment to the closet.
