Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center located in Seattle is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator I to act as a professional liaison for patients and families, providing continuity of care and efficient scheduling across multiple systems. The role emphasizes critical thinking to handle complex requests and develop trusted patient relationships.

The position offers 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week) with a hybrid schedule including remote work and occasional Issaquah site duties, Monday through Friday 8a-5p.

Qualifications

• Proficient in MS Word, email, and data entry in a Windows-based environment.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize concurrent responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Schedules all patient appointments related to treatment and outside referrals; coordinates with departments to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Works with patients, families, providers, and staff to identify needs, answer questions, and resolve problems.
• Updates patient and caregiver contact information in the EHR.
• Communicates with providers and staff regarding scheduling needs and notices.
• Prioritizes scheduling requests and triages urgent issues as they arise.
• Supports department operations and may assist with cross-coverage and special projects.
