Tallahassee Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy is seeking a Full-Time Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our Collegiate Village team in Tallahassee, FL. You will be the first voice and face for patients, delivering a warm, professional experience from the initial call through every visit.

This role emphasizes multi-tasking, compassionate customer service, and accurate processing of payments and referrals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-facing role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once while staying organized.
• Comfortable and confident communicating on the phone, including handling upset or frustrated callers with patience and professionalism.
• Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn scheduling software and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources.
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls.
• Review and follow up on referrals by gathering information and updating patient records.
• Keep patient flow moving by confirming appointments and managing waitlists.
• Collect copays, balances, and patient payments accurately and professionally.
• Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions.
