Job summary

Tallahassee OSPT, part of the Confluent Health family, is seeking a Full Time Front Desk Medical Receptionist for our Collegiate Village team in Tallahassee. You set the tone for patient experiences, handling check-ins, scheduling, and payments with warmth and professionalism.

No healthcare background is required; training includes EMR navigation, insurance basics, scheduling workflows, and phone etiquette.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of customer-facing or patient-facing experience in retail, hospitality, call center, medical reception, or similar.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while staying organized and detail-oriented.
• Comfort communicating on the phone, including handling upset callers with patience and professionalism.
• Basic computer proficiency: scheduling software, emails, spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources.
• Manage front desk operations including check-in/out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls.
• Review, schedule, and follow up on referrals, update patient records, and explain next steps.
• Maintain patient flow by confirming appointments, managing waitlists, and handling cancellations and future visits.
• Collect copays and balances professionally, including basic payment tracking or reconciliation.
• Protect patient privacy and HIPAA compliance in all front desk interactions.
