Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of customer-facing or patient-facing experience.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Confident phone communication with patience and professionalism.
• Basic computer proficiency: scheduling software, emails, spreadsheets.
• No prior medical experience required; training provided including EMR navigation, insurance basics, scheduling workflows, and phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources.
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in/out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls.
• Review and follow up on referrals, gather information, update patient records, explain next steps.
• Keep patient flow moving by confirming appointments, handling waitlists, cancellations, and future visits.
• Collect copays and balances accurately, including basic payment tracking or reconciliation.
• Protect patient privacy and HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions and documentation.
