Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a front desk/PSR professional to join our patient-centered team in New Providence, NJ. You will greet visitors, register patients, verify insurance, process payments, and manage appointments with a focus on excellent service.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and computer skills, with experience in EHR and practice management systems preferred. On-site work and adherence to safety protocols are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
• Previous PSR experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must have the ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.
• Basic proficiency in computer use; Windows-based environment preferred.
• Experience with EHR, Practice Management System and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors, patients, and families in a friendly professional manner and directs them appropriately.
• Maintains an efficient patient flow through the registration process and provides excellent customer service to patients/families.
• Promptsly answers the telephone, directs all calls appropriately, takes an accurate message and delivers to the appropriate individual.
• Informs patients of delays and assists with patient comfort while delayed.
• Posts all self-pay charges, collects payments, and provides receipts; reconciles daily payments.
• Opens and closes batches properly and reconciles collections.
• Scans insurance cards, processes verifications, and updates patient accounts and demographics.
• Schedules appointments accurately and confirms future appointments; reviews eligibility.
