Job summary

VillageMD in Livingston/New Providence, NJ is seeking a part-time Patient Service Representative to greet visitors, manage check-in, verify demographics, and support scheduling and billing processes in a fast-paced medical office.

The role requires excellent customer service, English communication, basic computer skills, and familiarity with EHR/Practice Management systems. Hours are roughly 25 hours per week, Monday–Friday 12 PM–8 PM with weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Prior PSR experience in a medical setting is preferred.
• Must communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written.
• Strong customer service and multi-tasking abilities; basic computer skills.
• Familiarity with EHR and practice management software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and patients in a friendly, professional manner and direct them appropriately.
• Maintain efficient patient flow during registration and provide excellent service.
• Answer calls, take messages, and route inquiries to the correct team.
• Verify demographics, insurance, and collect payments when applicable.
• Assist with scheduling, pre-authorizations, and basic documentation in the system.
• Support other office locations as needed and cover shifts per schedule.
