Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking a Patient Care Representative to deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, efficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced setting. You will greet patients, collect copays, assist with iPad check-in, and coordinate with technologists to ensure smooth patient flow while upholding HIPAA and privacy policies.

Responsibilities include handling mail/ deliveries, data entry, addressing scheduling emergencies, and participating in onboarding new staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency required
• Attention to detail and typing accuracy required
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to multi task and exceed customer expectations is required
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while simultaneously performing data entry and information intake via phone. Can be met with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and collect copay/deductible/coinsurance and explain the consent form.
• Assist patients with iPad check-in and troubleshoot as needed.
• Identify language-service needs.
• Distribute films/CDs while upholding HIPAA and privacy policy.
• Collaborate with technologists/radiologists to maintain patient flow.
• Process mail and deliveries.
• Prepare setup for next day's schedule and communicate issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient groups.
• Verify and enter information into our systems.
• Respond to scheduling emergencies professionally.
• Support with machine utilization using templates for waitlists and schedules.
• Answer patient and doctor concerns accurately and professionally.
• Keep management informed of issues with potential impact.
• Stay current on policy changes that modify daily work functions.
• Maintain copay/petty cash accuracy and daily deposits.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Improve survey return rates per guidelines and coordinate cross-department workflows.
