Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking a Patient Care Representative in Boston for a part-time, per-diem role. You will greet patients, collect payments, assist with iPad check-in, and coordinate language services when needed.

Collaboration with radiology staff and handling mail and scheduling duties are part of the job. The position emphasizes accurate data entry, HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency required.
• Attention to detail and typing accuracy required.
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to multi task and exceed customer expectations is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, collect copay/deductible/coinsurance and explain consent forms.
• Assist patients with iPad check-in, troubleshoot and provide feedback.
• Recognize when language services are needed and coordinate accordingly.
• Distribute films/CDs while maintaining HIPAA and privacy policies.
• Collaborate with technologists/radiologists to ensure proper patient flow.
• Process incoming/outgoing mail and UPS deliveries.
• Prepare next day’s appointment schedule and flag issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of all customer groups.
• Verify and enter data into systems.
• Respond to scheduling emergencies professionally and promptly.
• Support with machine utilization by filling the template (waitlist, 1/1 and 7/4).
• Address patient and doctor concerns accurately and efficiently.
• Keep management informed of potential issues affecting departments or customers.
• Stay updated on policy changes affecting daily tasks.
• Maintain co-pay/petty cash accuracy and daily deposits.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
