Job summary

Shields Health is seeking a Patient Care Representative in Massachusetts to provide exceptional customer service with accuracy and efficiency. The role is 35 hours per week, with evenings and weekend shifts as listed, and requires handling copays, check-in processes, and coordinating with radiology teams.

Your responsibilities include assisting with patient flow, safeguarding privacy, processing mail, and supporting scheduling and emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency required.
• Attention to detail and typing accuracy required.
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to multi task and exceed customer expectations is required.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while simultaneously performing data entry and information intake via phone.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, collect necessary copay/deductible/co-insurance and explain the consent form to be completed.
• Assist patients with iPad check-in process, troubleshoot and provide feedback.
• Recognize and utilize language services as needed.
• Distribute films/CDs while maintaining HIPAA and privacy policies.
• Collaborate with technologists/radiologists to ensure proper patient flow.
• Process outgoing and incoming US and inter-office mail and UPS deliveries.
• Prepare setup for next day’s appointment schedule and communicate potential issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of all customer groups.
• Verify and enter necessary information into our systems.
• Respond appropriately to scheduling emergency patient situations.
• Support Customer Care with machine utilization by filling templates.
• Answer patient and doctor concerns with accuracy and professionalism.
• Keep management informed of situations with potential impact on the company.
• Stay current on policy/procedure changes affecting daily work.
• Maintain copay/petty cash accuracy and make daily deposits.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
• Work to maintain survey return rates and ensure efficiencies across departments.
