Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Patient Billing Services Representative II for our Orthopedic Surgery department in Saint Louis, MO.

You will greet patients, verify insurance, manage registrations, schedule visits, and handle payments while ensuring HIPAA compliance. This role supports timely check-ins/check-outs, collaborates with Pre-Arrival, and may require local travel to other Orthopedic locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service with a patient-centered attitude.
• Check in/out scheduled patients; verify registration, insurance, referrals, and demographics in EPIC as needed.
• Schedule walk-in and same-day appointments.
• Collect copays, DME payments, self-pay/pre-pay, and past-due balances; enter good faith estimates.
