Job summary

Qualifications

• Billing systems, third-party claims, and related medical office customer service experience (3 years).
• Ability to explain billing processes clearly to patients.

Responsibilities

• Obtains insurance information from patients and counsels alternative ways for financial assistance.
• Registers all new patients and assists with form completion.
• Reviews schedule for new patients and updates as necessary.
• Calls patients with appointment reminders and collects insurance information.
• Explains billing process to patients and responds to inquiries from patients and payers.
• Explains billing processes to other staff; assists with basic account maintenance.
• May provide Medical Assistant services to the department if MA certification is required.
