Job summary

Mount Sinai West is seeking a Supervisor, Patient Access Services-Admitting to oversee frontline staff in registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance. You will coach staff, monitor productivity, and ensure HIPAA compliance across the department.

Reporting to the Manager of Patient Access Services, you will help maintain operational efficiency, uphold payer standards, and collaborate with clinical units to resolve patient access issues in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Patient Access or hospital registration
• Working knowledge of insurance verification and financial clearance
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Basic leadership or team lead experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely registration and documentation
• Monitor staff productivity and provide real-time feedback
• Escalate operational issues, system concerns, or workflow barriers to the Manager as appropriate
• Assist with staffing assignments and coverage to ensure adequate departmental support
• Reinforce compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies
• Maintain working knowledge of registration processes, insurance verification, and financial clearance workflows
• Support compliance with HIPAA privacy and security standards
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
• Perform other duties as assigned
