Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking an experienced clinic registrations supervisor to manage the registration/reception team and align staffing with policy. You will interview, hire, discipline and lead front office staff, coordinate payroll and training, and oversee scheduling and productivity reporting, while ensuring compliance with UC policies.

This role requires strong communication, leadership, and knowledge of health plan benefit interpretation, with ability to travel to off-site

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year recent experience (within past two (2) years) registering patients in a hospital or clinic, working as a Medical Assistant, or working in medical billing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Excellent organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple activities and varied deadlines
• Demonstrated leadership skills to supervise and motivate staff
• Demonstrated experience and thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and database applications
• Ability to travel to off-site clinics
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Ability to act independently to solve problems and develop recommendations for approval

Responsibilities

• Administer, develop and staff the clinic's registration/reception.
• Interview, hire, disciplinary actions and terminations in alignment with policies; coordinate with clinic manager.
• Provide training, orientation and in-services for front office staff.
• Monitor and direct collection of productivity and other statistical information.
• Coordinate payroll, computer training, quality assurance and HR issues for staff.
• Provide oversight for authorization and surgery scheduling and assist as needed.
