Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking a Registration/Reception Lead responsible for the clinic's registration operations, staff hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training, in coordination with the clinic manager.

You will monitor productivity metrics, coordinate payroll and HR issues for front office staff, oversee authorization and surgery scheduling, and provide support across health system departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills
• Minimum one (1) year recent experience registering patients in a hospital or clinic, working as a Medical Assistant, or working in medical billing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Excellent organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple activities and varied deadlines
• Demonstrated leadership skills to supervise and motivate staff
• Demonstrated experience and thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and database applications
• Demonstrated ability to interpret health plan benefit packages and make benefit determinations
• Ability to travel to off-site clinics
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Ability to act independently to solve problems and develop recommendations for approval

Responsibilities

• Administer, develop and staffing of the clinic's registration/reception
• Interview, hire, disciplinary actions and terminations ensuring alignment with policies
• Provide training, orientation and in-services for front office staff
• Monitor and direct the collection of productivity and other statistical information
• Coordinate payroll, computer training, quality assurance and HR issues for staff
• Provide oversight for authorization and surgery scheduling and assist as needed
