Job summary

Carle Health seeks a Patient Access Leader to supervise ED, registration, switchboard, and related staff to optimize patient intake and access. You will adjust processes for better service, prepare staff schedules within budget, and audit registration data to reduce errors while supporting training and denials-reduction efforts.

This role also covers on-call rotations and acts as the Patient Access Manager when the manager is away.

Qualifications

• CHAA certification within 2 years as required by NAHAM.
• Associate’s degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision of Richland Patient Access staff and resolve issues.
• Hire, evaluate, discipline, and promote staff; assign and review work.
• Maintain staff schedules within department standards and budget.
• Post schedules two weeks in advance and fill open shifts.
• Ensure training to reduce errors and improve patient satisfaction.
• Assist with denial reviews, policy reviews, and process improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotation and cover leadership duties as needed.
