Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage the patient intake process in our clinic. You will interact with patients in person and by phone, facilitate check-in/out, collect data and payments, validate insurance, schedule appointments, and process referrals and authorizations.

You will demonstrate critical thinking, strong customer service, and knowledge of insurance, billing, and medical terminology to ensure a seamless, high-quality patient intake

Qualifications

• One year of customer service work experience is required.
• Healthcare or Call Center experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers and/or checks patients in/out.
• Performs patient check-in and records demographic, insurance and other information; follows procedures and escalates issues as needed.
• Conducts routine insurance eligibility verifications.
• Copies/scans patient materials into the EMR.
• Records non-clinical charges and handles payments.
